Our condo is officially under contract.  Woo Hoo!

It’s yet another bittersweet moment (just like graduation).  We are obviously psyched to sell our condo, but we’re really going to miss it, too.  It is such a unique place with a ton of character.

The buyer seems like a great person who appreciates all the little details…so obviously she shares our good taste.

We reached a deal fairly quickly once she made an offer.  Anyone who knows me won’t be surprised to learn that we agonized over our counteroffer.  I’m pretty sure we left some money on the table, but the important thing is that we reached a deal.

Buying and selling real estate can be very stressful, especially without a broker.  The numbers involved are so big.  The best advice I’ve heard is something my mother said, when teaching me how to drive stick shift: “Look around.  Idiots do this every day.  You don’t think you can learn?”

We still have the inspection and appraisal, but we expect those to go smoothly.  It was less than 2 years ago when we went through the same process, and not much has changed in that time (except some minor improvements that we made).
