I Need A Charity….Quick!

I am being pressured at work to give some loot to a charity.  They will match my donation.

We make small contributions to 3 different educational institutions, but those won’t count for this particular exercise. 

I’m looking for an organization where my measly donation will have a real impact.  Please drop me an email or comment on this page.  Bonus points if you’re a friend and it’s a cause that you care deeply about.

    It's an amazing education charity where teachers write in with a "grant proposal" detailing a specific classroom project or need, and you can search for one you like (by topic, geography, or both) and fund it directly. Depending on your donation you get an email from the teacher or a handwritten set of notes from the kids thanking you personally. It's a really, really great charity; my favorite by far. You can fund anything from copies of a Shakespeare play for 11th graders to microscopes for 8th graders who need to learn to use them for a standardized test!

    I think you should give your money to the Milford Rape Crisis Center or the Make a Wish Foundation of Connecticut.
    Both are great organizations.
