Radio Silence

Sorry for the radio silence. Work makes it hard.

The last couple of weeks have been incredibly busy, but I’m loving my job. People say that managers at top consulting firms are extremely talented leaders of people, but I think the job is easy…..the people are so talented that all you have to do is define the problem and let ‘em at it! On a daily basis, I am amazed at the talent of my co-workers and at the size of the impact we’re having on our client.

People always grumble about how consultants are overpaid, how they steal your watch and then tell you what time it is, how they’re hired simply to make the world safe for VP’s. Well, that is NOT what I’m seeing on my first study. I’m seeing a group of incredible people tackling a problem of enormous size, and I’m seeing real results.

I do not see the bills that we charge, but unless they’re billing my team at $10 million a month, we are also creating enormous value for the client.

Anyhoo, enough about work. I uploaded a few pictures to Picasa. Check ‘em out here.

In bigger news, the baby is due in 3 weeks. It’s just crazy.

The doctor told Greta that the baby’s head is ginormous. Just what every woman wants to hear. But I’m confident that everything will be just fine. sure, his brain is a little overdeveloped, but that’s to be expected. Look at his father. But he’s going to do just fine.

Also, our place is filled with baby crap. Not literally (not yet). I’m talking about swings, bouncers, bibs, cribs, and hand-me-downs. Greta had a shower last weekend and we came home with a BOATLOAD of stuff. Pretty cool tradition…and I’m psyched that we get to take advantage of our friends and family for a little extra love.

Any name suggestions? Let us know. We’re struggling.
