I heard this story from a new colleague at my firm.
He went to HBS. He used to run a B-school bingo game during class. It works like this: everyone who wants to play throws in a buck and is given a bingo card. Each square on the card contains a contestant’s name.
As the prof cold calls people in class, the player’s check off the squares on their bingo card.
When you get bingo, you win the pot. But first you have to say the phrase that pays. This is the fun part.
The phrase that pays, which changes every class, is a ridiculous phrase that would never normally be uttered during class. But if you want that money, you raise your hand and find a way to work it into your comment.
There are a million reasons why I’d like togo back to business school, but this might be #1.
I want stories if any of you people try this.
