I’m getting back into consulting, and it’s really good.

The days are long, but I’m learning a lot and enjoying my teammates.  I was staffed on a fascinating client and I’m able to use some of my past experience, so I feel like I can really add value right away.

There are some interesting dynamics on the team, already.

First of all, everyone is smart.  Really, really, smart.  The amount of information flying around the room is staggering, but my team just sifts through, processes, and moves on.

Second, the bitching/complaining that is part of any team environment is surprisingly funny and mild.  Sure, people have their issues with the firm, but it’s mostly about minor annoyances like travel delays and IT issues. 

Folks are happy, they like each other, and they’re interested in the work.

Anyway, I’m busy but I’m feeling extremely positive.
