Tips On Remembering Names?

I start a new job on Thursday.   I’ll admit to being a little anxious.  Will I like the work?  Am I smart enough to do the job?  Will people like me?  Will the hours/travel destroy me?

But my biggest fear is much more basic: how will I remember all the new names?

I’ve always been terrible at remembering names.  When I was president of my social house in college, I used to write the names of all the members in the margins of my notebooks.  I probably should have been paying attention to the professor.  But I learned everyone’s names and quickly became the most popular, best looking, most accomplished man on campus.

Can I repeat this feat at the new job?  Anyone know any name-remembering tricks?

When you first meet someone say their name in your head ten times. You can also use memory tricks. For example we to remember the spelling of a guest named Jolo Hsia, my manager came up with high-speed internet access.
